Analytical portion
• Find the most recent annual financial report for Apple, Inc. on Form 10-K. This information is readily available at Yahoo Finance (or other finance websites) or preferably directly from Apple’s website under the Investors link in the About Apple section of their website.
• Look up the closing stock price for the company on the first day of the semester (February 22nd) and again on Friday, June 4th. Again, this is readily available on Yahoo Finance or other equivalent sites.
· Financial analysis of selected key financial information
o Trend analysis
§ Perform vertical analysis as follows:
o Vertical analysis for most current year income statement (using Net Sales as the 100% metric).
o Ratio analysis
§ Calculate the following ratios for the most recent fiscal year only:
o Current ratio
o Working capital
o Debt to equity ratio
o Return on equity
o Earnings per share (found on the face of the income statement)
o Stock price discussion – briefly discuss the change in stock price during the semester given the stock prices obtained during your research. Mention whether or not you would invest in this company.
