he Curriculum Process
The Discussions in this course include several components. You may not be able to address all of these questions in a single post. You will need to plan to return to the Discussion several times during the week to weigh in on the questions. Please make sure you do so as part of both original posts as well as in replies to your classmates. Remember that your grade for the Discussion Board comprises both original postings and your contributions through replies. Both are great places to introduce new information, opinions, links, etc., and both are equally IMPORTANT to your grade.

Designing a quality course or curriculum can be a daunting task requiring consideration of specific goals for your students, the demands of accreditation agencies, and how you, as a faculty member, can facilitate the learning process. As you progress through the course, you will have opportunity to work systematically through the process and have the benefit of peer feedback as you participate in discussions and upload SECTIONS of your Course Project to the unit?s Social Media area.

For this Discussion, assume you are planning the first meeting of the curriculum development team that will be assisting you as you develop your course project. Your first step in the development of a program is to describe the curriculum development process to your committee. The process has different steps depending on who you ask, but the basics are the same:

Using your favorite search engine, find an image that you feel represents the process of curriculum development.
Save the image to your computer or computer clipboard (this is typically done with your cursor over the image and then right mouse click to save the image).
Go to the Discussion board and create a new thread. Using your keyboard shortcuts, Control/V to paste your image into the Discussion area.
Write a narrative that describes the image and the steps of the curriculum development process as represented in the image. You should have a substantial paragraph for each step. Remember to cite the image and all resources/references used in your narrative. (You can also paste or insert your image into Word, and then copy and paste your work into the Discussion after you have finished everything.)
