In Chapters five and six we read about political white-collar crime. All too often elected officials are charged with crimes. These officials range from small town mayors to United States Senators. In the below link, the Boca Raton Mayor was arrested for corrupt misuse of public office and perjury.

for this week’s assignment, research a recent elected official that has been arrested for a crime related to their duties as an elected official.
Discuss the following:
- 1) What are the charges?
- 2) How were their crimes uncovered?
- 3) What is the evidence against them?
- 4) Was there a plea offer or are the waiting trial?
- 5) Did they stay in office, step down from their position or were they removed from office?
