This is a simple journal assignment and is comprised of four 250-word reflections of associated videos. The headings will be:

Journal 5

In the video clip High Risk Drug Offender the program hosts identifies two major themes. The first is: can drug offenders be successfully supervised and treated. And second, can they become productive crime free citizens. After watching the two guests, one in treatment/supervision and one has completed the program, what do you think? Discuss your opinion about the two themes. Support your opinions.

After watching the video clip Halfway Houses Works, what are your thoughts on the support for those in early recovery? Which do you think are effective and why? Which don’t you think are effective and why?

After reading: Young Criminals Wake-up in Short Stop and watching SHORTSTOP – A Juvenile Crime Diversion Program, what are your thoughts on the SHORTSTOP program. Do you think it is effective? Why or why not?

JOURNAL 8

After watching the video clip, Young Schizophrenic at Her Mind’s Mercy reflect and comment in your Journal. January Schofield has schizophrenia. Potent psychiatric drugs in doses that would stagger most adults seem to skip off her. She is among the rarest of the rare: a child seemingly born mentally ill. This is an open assignment. You are being asked for your true reflections, thoughts, and feelings about the story.
