Why is ethics important in accounting?

1.Make a list of 3 reasons why ethics is important in accounting. Each should be accompanied by a short explanation [18 points] (I will grade these based on the quality of the reasons, i.e. reasons that are nonsensical, vague or do not relate to accounting will receive less credit.)

2.Prepare a list of three references in proper form (see Guidelines for Guidelines for Citing Sources) where you have located the answer to this question.It can be websites, periodicals or books.Any of the sources will be okay.It only needs to be three sources.
