Transfer To Unc Hill: Personal Statement

I do spend a better part of my day in books and laboratories. One might expect my interest of books to be of medical limitation. However, to the surprise of many am I do not limit myself. Accordingly, when I indicate that I spend better part of my day reading books, it does means that I read all sorts of books. Nevertheless, when am in the laboratory my interest is now limited to the human body trying to understand it functionality and what causes its malfunction. This passion comes from an interest I did develop on natural sciences during my childhood and there after narrowing by interest to biology and finally, narrowing on the human body. My quest to be a doctor is insatiable and the only way to cure my thirst is attaining the relevant qualifications needed in order to achieve this objective.

When am not in the laboratories or reading books, I will be in one of my hobbies such as swimming. This makes me very competitive in the extracurricular activities. That is, not only am I good swimmer but I have been attending various tournaments in the events. Hence, if given a chance at the institution I would participate in a number of extracurricular activities at the University. Though there is a challenge of managing my time and having the time to attend to all activities, I always find a way of arranging my time in the most appropriate manner. Consequently, I do ensure that there is no compromise of any of the activities. My competitive nature also portrays itself in such events.

Though I live in the United States of America where English is the most spoken language, i do speak a number of other languages. I can speak four languages of the world and most specifically the Asian region without much difficulty. They include English, Chinese, Cantonese, and Malay languages. In addition to the four, i do speak Japanese and even though am not that fluent in the language I can communicate using the language. The meaning of this is that on becoming a doctor, I am not limited to English speaking areas only and there is a possibility of being an international doctor. Currently, I have the interest of learning African and European languages in my bid of being multilingual. It is a surprise that I never learnt these languages at school but rather by overcoming the challenges involved due to passion. This comes from my desire to overcome challenges I face when trying to achieve a given objective.

Having acquired an associate degree in the field of biology, I am familiar with the human biology. Studying biology has been opening me up to more to the facts about the human body. Accordingly, am an expert in the field of human biology and understand most of its functionalities. Given a chance to further my studies at the UNC Hill in the field, there is a chance of becoming one of the most important medical doctors in the country. I am passionate about biology and the details about the body and am interested with the studies involved. UNC Hill will give a good chance to further my studies at their graduate school on acceptance of my transfer to the university. Accordingly, am looking forward to studying at the university.
